Recap of November Trade Shows

The Connectivity Product Business Unit (CPBU) of Laird Technologies exhibited at three events in November: the Medical Device Connectivity Conference and Exhibition (MDCC), Medica, and Electronica.

MDCC

Laird was a platinum-level sponsor at the fourth annual MDCC, held November 1 -2 at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA.

This conference remains the only industry event focused on medical device connectivity and workflow automation through integration of medical devices and information systems.

The conference featured presentations from industry experts including the CPBU Product Director Chris Bolinger. Bolinger's presentation covered Wi-Fi security and FIPS 140-2. For more information about this event, visit The Center for Business Innovation website here.

Medica

In mid-November, the CPBU team exhibited at the Medica show in Dusseldorf, Germany. For over 40 years, Medica has represented all elements of the global medical sector and 2012 was no different, with over 130,000 visitors and 4,554 trade exhibitors filling the 17 exhibition halls.

CPBU used this platform to preview a range of new and in-development products including the Range-Amplified MultiPoint (RAMP) module, Class 1 Bluetooth modules, and Laird’s first offering in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) space.

Electronica

In addition, CPBU exhibited at electronica, the 2012 "International Trade Fair for Electronic Components, Systems, and Applications". The show, which took place in Munich, Germany, brought together many suppliers, partners, and customers from all over the world. electronica reported that there were more than 72,000 visitors from 78 countries in attendance.

There was a buzz surrounding the Wireless area of the show, where CPBU exhibited its Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and RAMP solutions to positive reviews from visitors. The show also enabled CPBU to strengthen many of its existing supplier and customer relationships.
