The SDC-PC10AG provides all key Summit hardware and software capabilities in time-tested PCMCIA (PC Card) form factor. This dual band radio module operates in both the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency bands supporting IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g. As a result, the SDC-CF10G is ideal for integration into legacy mobile devices like handheld and vehicle mounted mobile computers, medical devices and portable printers.

    Note: Summit recommends that the mounting holes be connected to the mating circuit board with conductive screws that connect to the ground plane of the main circuit board. This is helpful in reducing radiating emissions below 1GHz that are a common occurrence in high-speed electrical circuits.

From a user's perspective, the SDC-PC10AG is a PCMCIA module. From a regulatory and certification perspective, the SDC-PC10AG is the SDC-CF10AG Compact Flash module inserted into a Compact Flash to PCMCIA adapter.

Regulatory Certifications

All ETSI, FCC, Industry Canada, and MIC (formerly TELEC) certifications for the SDC-CF10AG are applicable to the SDC-PC10AG. Please review the SDC-CF10AG certification information page for detailed information on existing certifications and how your organization can leverage them.

Wi-Fi Certification

Summit has secured Wi-Fi Alliance certification for the SDC-PC10AG as a "Dependent Product" of the SDC-CF10AG.

CCX Certification

Summit is a member of the Cisco Compatible Extensions (CCX) program and has a direct license from Cisco for intellectual property relating to the various versions of the CCX specifications. Summit has submitted the SDC-PC10AG to an authorized CCX test lab and has been found to be fully compliant with version 4 of the CCX specifications for application specific devices (ASDs). For those host devices which include the SDC-PC10AG, the vendor may assert that their device incorporates a Cisco Compatible radio module.

Device vendors who are members of the CCX program may also choose to secure CCX compliance for their end device. When incorporating the SDC-PC10AG into their product with the above software version, the vendor need not be a direct licensee for Cisco intellectual property. Rather, in this case the device vendor need only submit their SDC-PC10AG enabled device for CCX compliance testing to the version 4 test plan for ASDs. By leveraging Summit's "pre-approved" software and by testing to the same plan, the vendor has a greater assurance that their actual testing will result in end device compliance. Summit will provide consultative services to those vendors who choose to pursue CCX compliance for their Summit-equipped devices.
